Some business owners get intimated by the accounting terms-let me help you understand why there is nothing to fear. A P & L report is a profit and loss report that simply breaks down your money in and your money out in the form of income and expenses. Things that you will see on the P & L are payroll expenses, rent, cost of goods sold, are all on the expense side, the income side will have sales income, product income or any other items that generate income. The things that will not show up on your P & L are loans, vehicles, anything that you hold a note on or will be paying over time. These will show up on your balance sheet.
